My Background
After university, I had a long career in corporate communication and public relations. Working closely with chief executives, management and staff, I had plenty of opportunity to observe, and indeed experience, the negative ways in which stress and anxiety, business and personal, can affect our lives.

Some people seemed to have great resilience in dealing with what life threw at them while others appeared to be at the mercy of events, other people's attitudes or their own fears. Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy showed me that it doesn't have to be that way -- you can change the way you feel and the way you behave by changing the way you think.

Why Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy(CBH)?
I chose this therapy for many reasons: it worked for me; its techniques have been shown to be safe and effective in many sound clinical research studies; it deals primarily with the symptoms you are experiencing in the here and now and looks to the future rather than focusing on your past; it demonstrates that by changing the way you think about yourself and your life (your 'self-talk') you can change the way you behave and the way you feel; it gives you the skills you need for change; through hypnosis, positive suggestions are embedded deep in your mind for fast and lasting change; unlike many 'talking therapies', it achieves results in weeks rather than years; it sets clear goals, so you can measure your progress at every stage.

Every time a client tells me how much they have benefited from this therapy after just a few sessions, I know I made the right choice

I trained with the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy whose Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is awarded by the Government approved examinations board, NCFE, and meets National Occupational Standards criteria. As a member of several leading professional hypnotherapy bodies, I am constantly updating my knowledge of the latest research and developments in the field of cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy. I am also bound by the strict Codes of Ethics and Practice of those bodies and use only evidence-based interventions.

Your well-being is my goal.
